Suarez Bites Italian Defender

CONTROVERSIAL LUIS Suarez who robbed Ghana of a 1/16 berth during the 2010 Football mundial in South Africa with his infamous handball is in the news again, and once again for the wrong reason.

The Liverpool star striker bit Italian stalwart Giorgio Chiellini as the pair tussled in the box in an ill-tempered match in Natal which saw the Uruguayans snatching the maximum points with a Diego Godin’s late header.

Luis Suarez had appeared to earlier bite Giorgio Chiellini as the pair tussled in the box and Claudio Marchisio was sent off for a terrible high challenge on Arevalo Rios after the break reports The Daily Mail. But close shot photographs posted on the web showed Suarez taking a full bite of what he probably thought was a ‘party cake’ for Uruguay’s would be victory.

In what was one of, if not the, worst game of this World Cup so far, Suarez again stole the show for a moment of disgusting petulance and now faces a lengthy ban – if FIFA decide to act upon the incident.

The Uruguay star was in November 2010 issued a seven-game ban for a chomp on PSV’s Otman Bakkal while playing for Ajax. In April 2012, he was hit with a ten-game suspension for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.
