There are conflicting reports as to where the late vice president Aliu Mahama will be buried.
According to a report monitored by wojakugh.com on Saturday, the late veep will be flown to his home town to be buried in either Tamale or Yendi.
The latest development comes just a day after Communications Minister Haruna Iddrisu stated that Aliu Mahama will be buried at the Osu Military cemetery in Accra.
Later a Government statement indicated that the former vice president will buried at the Asomdwee Park, the resting place of the former president, John Evans Atta-Mills.
However, a spokesperson of the family Alhaji Gomda told journalists in Accra Saturday that elders of the family have agreed with government to bury Aliu Mahama in Tamale. The government is yet to make a statement on the turn of events.
Aliu Mahama died Friday at the Korle-Bu Cardio Centre after a short illness.
He is expected to be buried, Sunday, 18th November 2012, according to Muslim traditions, but the venue of the burial is yet to be officially confirmed.
